BIRTH DOULA + STUDENT MIDWIFE
Sara’s has been teaching yoga full-time at Hot Yoga Charlottesville ever since earning her MA in Philosophy at UVA in 2009. Her path to supporting birth began in 2012 when she attended prenatal yoga teacher training. Her background in yoga and philosophy shape her personality as a doula.
Leading women in prenatal and postpartum yoga sparked a passion in Sara that inspired her to start midwifery education in 2014. She has experience supporting families as assistant to midwife throughout pregnancy, during labor and delivery as well as postpartum in out-of-hospital settings. She’s currently an apprentice at CVille Midwifery. In 2015 Sara attended doula training and joined Bright Birthing supporting birth at our local hospitals. In addition to the community events that she and her Bright Birthing doula partners regularly host, in 2016 she designed a childbirth education series that she continues to offer every season throughout the year.

PREGNANCY*BIRTH*POSTPARTUM SUPPORT AND EDUCATION
Awed and inspired by the birth of her first child, Cindy was a quick study and, before long was connecting with women in her community to help and support them through their births and offering another set of hands at home with the new babe. (before being a doula was a “thing”)
Fast forward through broad range of experiences to the current, and you’ll find her with a tool box full of ideas- comforts and techniques, so valuable to any birthing woman/couple. However, it is really her confident working knowledge of their application, in the moment, that her clients really prize.
In the weeks/months following birth Cindy provides postpartum care. As mom recuperates and baby becomes attuned with “life on the outside,” Cindy helps during the transition by providing emotional and physical support, educating and pitching in where needed.
Cindy is a strong proponent of education and teaches childbirth classes, including breastfeeding, newborn and selfcare. She too continues regular professional trainings, keeping her skills and certification up to date.

Debbie's passion is to support an intended parent during their journey into and through the childbearing year. Over a decade ago, she started her career as a doula by attending births. This was part of her early training to become a Certified Professional Midwife. Since that time, she has supported over 300 families in welcoming their babies. Motherhood, however, is not isolated to pregnancy and birth. Often the intended birthing individuals need support during pre-conception, and often after the baby is born. Debbie's role as your doula is to provide you with care so you may feel informed, empowered, and confident wherever you are in your process of building your family.

STEPHANIE POST, RN
BIRTH + POSTPARTUM DOULA
Stephanie attended her first birth at age three, the birth of her brother and can’t remember a time when she didn’t feel called to midwifery.
Stephanie graduated from nursing school in 2005 and has been a pediatric nurse for over 10 years. She has traveled the United States and the world, sometimes as a travel-nurse and sometimes for the pleasure of adventure. In 2010 Stephanie trained as a doula and has found great joy in supporting women and their families during the birthing time.
In 2014 Stephanie began her training as a student-midwife. The same year she experienced her own home-birth and was floored by the magic, incredible beauty and crazy intensity of it all. She is now more certain than ever that she is on the right path.
